Clarence E. Hanna was a widely known Longmont businessman and former City Councilman.  Clarence E. Hanna was born April 18, 1887 in Charleston, Illinois and came to Longmont with his family in 1918.  Along with T. J. Wallace, he was secretary and general manager of an automobile garage located at 506 Fifth Avenue.  For eight years, Clarence E. Hanna served as councilman from Ward 2, being elected in 1927, and retiring in 1935.

Shortly before his death, Clarence E. and Mrytie Hanna sold their home to Carl A. and Lorraine Miller, a local farmer and members of First Lutheran Church (now Ahlberg Chapel).  The home was held in the Lorraine Miller Trust until 2000 when it was sold to Glenn S. Wright and then sold to Lehman Communications Corporation in 2004.
